Steven Tyler

Steven TylerAfter a brief stint in the Boston club circuit, under the guidance of their manager of the first time, Frank Connelly, the band began working with New York managers Steve Leber and David Krebs. They then signed a recording deal in 1972 and debuted their eponymous debut album in 1973. The album was then followed by Get Your Wings and Toys in the Attic and Rocks. This earned Aerosmith international recognition and fame. These albums yielded iconic hits such as "Dream on", Walk This Way, "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk This Way". Aerosmith's initial five albums have been multi-platinum in all of them, and Toys in the Attic and Rocks are considered to be among the greatest hard rock albums of all time. But as the decade progressed the fast-paced lifestyle of touring, recording, being together, and taking drugs began to take its toll on the group. Tyler and Perry were often referred to as Toxic Twins, for their famed consumption of stimulants as well as heroin. Aerosmith Behind the Music as well as many other video releases from Aerosmith illustrate their bond. Tyler seemed to be more committed to the group, and seemed to dislike Perry's passive attitude. Perry, however, loved Tyler's love for the women in her life. Aerosmith was at a low point around 1980 due to tensions between Perry and Tyler.
